This remarkable Shadowline® woman’s nightgown drapes from the bodice to enhance feminine features. Its Opacitrique® fabric offers a comfortable and breathable feel. Ornamental lace enhances the neck while a beautiful pearl stitching details the sleeves and skirt bottom.

Using a fabric tape measure, obtain body measurements as follows and compare to the size chart below.
BUST: Measure around your body at fullest part of bust, keeping tape under arms and fairly level front to back. Larger busted women will have a more accurate reading if bra is worn during measurement.
WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline holding the tape comfortably loose.
HIPS: Stand with heels together. Measure around hips at fullest part (approx. 9″ below waist).

We have kept the original Dixie Belle panty sizing, which fits a little smaller than Shadowline panties. Once you know your Shadowline panty size (check our size chart at the top of the page if you’re unsure), you can use the comparison chart below to find your equivalent size in Dixie Belle:
Additional sizing tips:
- Bust measurements are more important for full slips, camisoles and garments with loose, flowing bottoms such as nightgowns or sleepshirts.
- Hip measurements are more important for garments with closer fitting bottoms like slips, pajamas and panties.
- If one of your measurements falls in a larger size or you prefer very loose garments, you may be more comfortable in selecting a larger size.
- Shadowline sizes garments for generous comfort. If you prefer your clothing form fitting, you may want to order a smaller size.
- Slip lengths (full and half slips) are measured from the waist down – nightgowns and sleepshirts are measured from the shoulder down.
- Bra size is NOT the same thing as bust size. Generally, you can convert by adding bra band size (i.e., 34, 36, etc.) to cup size in inches (A=1″, B=2″, C=3″, D=4″, DD=5″). For example, a 34C Bra size = 37″ Bust measurement. Measuring your body is the most accurate method for sizing.

This gown is the most comfortable gown I have ever worn. I have come back to Shadowline again and again to order this for more than 20 years. I am so impressed with how well-made it is—I wash mine once or twice a week, and it does not fade or show wear—it holds up for years! My only complaint is that they don’t offer it in more color choices. If they did, I would buy more gowns—perhaps a purple and red and a teal.

I thought this gown was beautiful. Liked the way the neckline was designed. However, it was just too long for me. Sleeping in it would have been difficult because I would have been tangled up in it every time I turned over. So I had to return it, sadly.

I love these gowns! I would love to see additional colors for the plus sizes again! I have a long gown in magenta that I love. I remember that a teal color was available for a short time, but I missed out on it and have regretted not ordering one when I had the chance. Please consider deeper colors (besides the black) especially for the plus sizes in the future. I will not purchase other brands…only Shadowline. I would love to see the long matching robes brought back to your line as well!

These gowns are extremely comfortable and very feminine! The material is very silky and of very good quality and not the cheap, flimsy, see-through material you will find on many nylon gowns offered these days. This gown has a very wide sweep so it doesn’t bunch up and bind when turning over at night. These gowns also wear well and will serve you for a long time! I have several of these and I know you will love these nightgowns!

I absolutely love this gown! The fabric is amazing and not the thin flimsy fabric of many nightgowns. The lace on the front is comfortable and not scratchy. It is generously cut, so do NOT size up; you will have plenty of room. I had one of these gowns for years, and recently decided to try and replace it. I was so glad to find this very similar gown. It is not a cheap gown but will last you for years and years. I am going to order another one in black – I have the blue now. Try this beautiful, comfortable gown.
